NHS Public Health
As the remit of Public Health grows ever wider, not just with the immediate issues of smoking, alcohol abuse and obesity but areas such as the environment and social inequalities, the specialist skills required within Public Health become ever more diverse.
Though it may once have had a rather grey image with limited appeal, today Public Health is at the forefront of key health initiatives and therefore provides career opportunities across many professions.
The ageing population, the health inequalities and the threats from new strains of bacteria and viruses provide challenges for the future. New recruits have the opportunity to make
a big difference to many people’s lives.
The theme of ‘making a big difference’ was one we took to create a recruitment campaign to encourage those with suitable degrees and experience to join the Public Health training programme. The campaign involved posters,
a DVD follow up and website. We decided the best and most credible recruiters were those already in the profession or on the training course. We interviewed them both on and off camera and supported their dialogue with news and location footage. This was then edited for both the DVD and website versions. Their quotes were also picked out for the posters.
Our client has described the campaign as very successful and they are pleased with the results.
