Over the last 15 years Leicester Comedy Festival has grown into one of the most important comedy festivals in the country. For most of this time Reach has been its design agency, and in celebration of this successful relationship our sponsorship contribution to this years festival is "Making an exhibition of ourselves", an exhibition that celebrates the comedy fruit (and vegetables) of this colourful collaboration.
The exhibition centers on the brand image for each year's festival, shown as either a programme cover or poster, but there are also plenty of reminders of the most memorable acts and incidents from over the years. Each brand image had to be funny in its own right and chickens crossing the road, underpants and banana skins all feature.
The exhibition launch was a great success. Friends from Leicester Comedy Festival, both old and new, joined Reach clients and members of Leicester City Council to raise a glass to fifteen glorious years of lunacy and laughter in Leicester. A poll was taken at the exhibition launch and the underpants, from 2002, got the biggest laugh and voted the most liked Leicester Comedy Festival brand so far.
The exhibition runs from 7th-21st Feb at the Depot in Rutland Street, Leicester, before being taken over by Leicester Museum Services for use in future exhibitions around the City.
